The role

The Human Rights Officer (Investigator) will research, collect and analyze information related to human rights violations, conduct investigations, monitor trends, and draft reports.

What you'll do

  • Researches, collects and analyses information related to human rights violations
  • Conducts investigations, including interviews with victims and witnesses
  • Monitors trends and patterns of violations
  • Drafts relevant sections for the Group of independent experts on Belarus’s report
  • Ensures that gender perspective is integrated in all stages of investigation

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related field
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible work experience in human rights
  • A minimum of two years of experience carrying out investigations of violations of international human rights law and/or international criminal law
  • Knowledge of English at UN Level III; Russian is desirable
