The role
The Human Rights Officer (Investigator) will research, collect and analyze information related to human rights violations, conduct investigations, monitor trends, and draft reports.
What you'll do
- Researches, collects and analyses information related to human rights violations
- Conducts investigations, including interviews with victims and witnesses
- Monitors trends and patterns of violations
- Drafts relevant sections for the Group of independent experts on Belarus’s report
- Ensures that gender perspective is integrated in all stages of investigation
What it takes
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related field
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible work experience in human rights
- A minimum of two years of experience carrying out investigations of violations of international human rights law and/or international criminal law
- Knowledge of English at UN Level III; Russian is desirable
