The Human Resources Officer position is located in Istanbul, focusing on providing advice and support to managers and staff on human resources related matters.

What you'll do

  • Provides advice and support to managers and staff on human resources related matters
  • Reviews and provides advice on requests for exceptions to policies, regulations and rules
  • Supports in the compilation and submission of comments to draft Staff Regulations, Staff Rules and Administrative Instructions
  • Assists with the review of allegations of misconduct
  • Prepares special reports, briefing notes and talking points for senior management
  • Keeps abreast of policy developments in various areas of human resources

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in human resources management, business or public administration, social sciences, education or related area
  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, administration or related area
  • Experience in providing HR policy related advice to field operations in the UN Common System or comparable international organizations is desirable
  • Experience in analyzing and drafting human resources policies is desirable
  • Experience in administration of justice matters, specifically in drafting responses to management evaluation requests, is desirable
  • Experience in conduct and discipline matters, specifically in drafting preliminary assessments of formal complaints of possible unsatisfactory conduct, is desirable
