Housing First Coordinator

The role

Eliot's Homeless Services Division is seeking a part-time Housing First Coordinator to provide onsite case management and support for residents. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to help clients gain skills for independent living, navigate legal concerns, and manage crisis situations. Candidates are encouraged to have an open mind regarding harm reduction and substance use recovery.

What you'll do

• Provide practical help and mentoring/modeling, advocacy, coordination, side--by-side individualized support, problem solving and direct assistance to help clients obtain skills needed for daily independent living.
• Promote health and wellness by assisting clients with accessing medical care information and services.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to guide residents through legal concerns.
• Intervene in potential crisis situations using trauma-informed verbal de-escalation techniques.
• Educate and support clients around harm reduction principles and utilization.
• Develop and implement safety response plans.

What it takes

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field (or High school diploma/GED with at least one experience working with adults with mental illness/substance abuse).
• Strong commitment to substance use recovery and housing first philosophy.
• Skills to establish supportive relationships with persons with mental illnesses/sub35,000.00
