Historical Architect position at Great Basin Institute to support the preservation, stabilization, and documentation of historic structures and cultural landscapes impacted by storms and natural disasters.

What you'll do

  • Conduct condition assessments and prepare HSRs, CLRs, and preservation treatment plans
  • Develop architectural designs, drawings, and specifications for preservation, stabilization, and rehabilitation
  • Ensure compliance with NHPA, NEPA, and Secretary of the Interior’s Standards
  • Support COR or technical lead on design and construction projects
  • Review project proposals, construction documents, and scopes of work for cultural resource impacts
  • Provide technical assistance and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams

What it takes

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in history, historic preservation, or architecture
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience with CAD software (AutoCAD)
  • Experience applying Secretary of the Interior’s Standards
  • Experience preparing HABS drawings
  • Experience preparing HSRs
