The role

Assisting a HPTC crew in offering skilled day labor services in the preservation trades, architecture, and project management fields to preserve and maintain our nation's historic resources.

What you'll do

  • Assisting a HPTC crew in offering skilled day labor services
  • Safely removing and replacing roofing
  • Conducting window repair work
  • Removing and restoring log building materials
  • Using paint to restore historic structures
  • Repairing and replacing flooring in old structures

What it takes

  • United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien
  • Must be 18-30 years of age (35 for Veterans with DD-214)
  • Has received a high school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required, including occasional lifting or handling of objects over 40 lbs using proper techniques
  • Standing or kneeling for long periods and will be required to climb ladders, work from scaffolding or platforms, work on uneven or angled surfaces such as a roof
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, climb and walk in all manners of environmental conditions
