The role
The Health Information Systems (HIS) Officer II will support the implementation, strengthening, and sustainability of health information and disease surveillance systems in Liberia.
What you'll do
- Support the planning, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of health information and disease surveillance systems.
- Provide technical support to national and subnational users of health information and surveillance systems.
- Train and mentor government staff, health workers, laboratory personnel, and partner organizations on data entry, analysis, visualization, interpretation, and use.
- Conduct routine data quality assessments (DQAs), data validation exercises, and system performance reviews.
What it takes
- Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Veterinary Medicine, Data Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience supporting health information systems, disease surveillance, digital health, monitoring and evaluation, or data management programs.
- Experience working with health information and surveillance platforms such as DHIS2, eIDSR, EWARS, LIMS, or similar systems.
- Experience in infectious disease surveillance, One Health programming, laboratory information systems, or zoonotic disease surveillance is an advantage.
