The role
Head of Business Development at WaterAid, responsible for securing funding to support the organization’s strategic priorities and program objectives.
What you'll do
- Lead and continuously strengthen WAB’s fundraising strategy
- Expand and sustain strategic donor partnerships
- Set fundraising priorities and targets
- Lead business development initiatives and identify strategic funding opportunities
- Assess funding gaps and establish annual fundraising targets
- Provide oversight of the restricted funding portfolio
What it takes
- Master’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, Marketing or any relevant discipline
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience with reputed organization, preferably with INGO
- Proven track record of leading fundraising teams, building strong donor relationships, and securing and managing institutional, bilateral, multilateral, and corporate grants
- Proven expertise in fundraising, business development, and resource mobilisation
- Strong donor mapping, opportunity identification, donor stewardship, and relationship management skills
- Strong strategic thinking, planning, prioritisation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
