The role

The Habitat Program Technician will assist with habitat restoration and management activities on Audubon’s Spring Creek Prairie, including implementing the habitat management plan.

  • Assist with habitat restoration and management activities on Audubon’s Spring Creek Prairie
  • Implement the habitat management plan on diverse habitats associated with the tallgrass prairie
  • Participate in habitat & Center operations, maintenance, and management

  • High school diploma and 1-2 years of training in a science-related field or related experience in land management
  • Familiarity with Great Plains plant and animal species
  • Ability to operate various types of equipment safely
  • Experience with herbicide application and best practices; pesticide applicator license preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions from colleagues
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling
