The role
The Habitat Program Technician will assist with habitat restoration and management activities on Audubon’s Spring Creek Prairie, including implementing the habitat management plan.
What you'll do
- Assist with habitat restoration and management activities on Audubon’s Spring Creek Prairie
- Implement the habitat management plan on diverse habitats associated with the tallgrass prairie
- Participate in habitat & Center operations, maintenance, and management
What it takes
- High school diploma and 1-2 years of training in a science-related field or related experience in land management
- Familiarity with Great Plains plant and animal species
- Ability to operate various types of equipment safely
- Experience with herbicide application and best practices; pesticide applicator license preferred
- Ability to follow instructions from colleagues
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling
