The role
Supports the development and delivery of geospatial analytics, Earth Observation, and location capabilities to support operational planning, situational awareness, monitoring, and evidence-based decision-making across the United Nations system.
What you'll do
- Assist in developing analytical pipelines centred on open-source satellite night-time light data
- Support other Remote Sensing Analysis activities using multi-sensor night-time lights and other Earth Observation data
- Assist in collecting and integrating open-source information and extracting geospatial indicators from remote sensing data
- Support data validation, documentation, research on new technologies (incl. AI), and coordination
What it takes
- Enrolled in or have completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
- Field of study must be closely related to remote sensing and geospatial information systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams
- Ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts is desirable
