The role
The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Adviser will provide high-level technical advice, capacity building, and institutional strengthening support to the Government of Tuvalu’s Gender Affairs Department (GAD), the Australian High Commission (AHC), and DFAT-funded partners.
What you'll do
- Provide high-level technical advice, capacity building, and institutional strengthening support
- Support the implementation of Tuvalu’s Te Paagatasi Gender Equity Policy and the Tuvalu Gender Equality Country Plan 2023-2027
- Strengthen GESI mainstreaming across policies, programs, systems, and services
- Provide training, mentoring, and technical support
- Develop practical tools and resources
- Support community awareness and behavior change initiatives
What it takes
- Tertiary qualification in Gender Equality and Social Inclusion analysis and mainstreaming, international development, gender program management, or a related discipline
- At least 10 years of demonstrated experience advancing gender equality and social inclusion outcomes
- Strong understanding of gender-based violence, domestic violence, and child protection issues
- Experience supporting inclusive and gender-responsive policies, programs, and services
- Experience working in Pacific Island countries or Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
- Ability to provide practical technical advice, build stakeholder capability, and operate effectively in resource-constrained environments
