The role

The Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Associate will play a critical role in supporting the integration of gender-responsive principles across UNDP Indonesia's climate and plastics circularity projects. The incumbent will lead technical inputs for GESI monitoring, provide analysis for reporting, and ensure project compliance with social and environmental standards. Additionally, the role involves facilitating inclusive stakeholder engagement and building capacity among government and community partners to advance gender-responsive climate governance.

What you'll do

  • Conduct GESI and safeguard reviews for project documents to ensure compliance with UNDP standards.
  • Develop gender-responsive monitoring frameworks and integrate GESI indicators into project log frames.
  • Provide technical GESI analysis for quarterly, semi-annual, and annual project progress reports.
  • Facilitate inclusive consultations with government counterparts, civil society, and marginalized groups.
  • Design and deliver capacity-building activities on GESI integration for project stakeholders.

What it takes

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in gender and policy analysis with a Bachelor’s degree, or 7 years with a Secondary Education.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental issues, including REDD+, NDC implementation, or carbon markets.
  • Demonstrated experience in project implementation and monitoring, including coordination with government institutions.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken).
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
