The role

The GEF Chemicals and Waste Technical Support Consultant will support the development of new projects for submission to the GEF, including the preparation of expressions of interest, project proposals, and portfolio management.

What you'll do

  • Develop expressions of interest for GEF-9 integrated programmes on pollution-free supply chains
  • Coordinate with potential countries for UNEP-led child projects preparing for country Expression of Interest submissions
  • Initiate the development of project funding documents and concept notes
  • Support in identifying potential co-financers, including investment banks, MDBs, private sector, etc.
  • Support the implementation of projects in Caucasus and Central Asia
  • Provide support to portfolio management as required

What it takes

  • First level or advanced university degree in Environmental Sciences (chemistry, chemical engineering, science, environmental studies, environmental engineering, environmental protection)
  • At least 3 years of working experience in project management at the international level
  • Working knowledge and experience of GEF projects (development and supervision)
