The role

The GEDSI Analyst will provide technical and analytical support for the GEDSI team to advance integration of GEDSI across WRI Indonesia’s project, with a particular focus on urban, transport, and climate policy transitions toward a sustainable and low-carbon economy.

What you'll do

  • Conduct systematic review on direct and indirect policies and regulations that unpack gender and equity aspects of proposed clean air solutions, energy and transportation transition at national and subnational level.
  • Develop a workplan and support the implementation of GEDSI-related activities by coordinating technical inputs, timelines, and deliverables with relevant project teams.
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders to gather input and ensure diverse perspectives are considered in decision-making processes.
  • Support documentation, reporting, and knowledge management related to GEDSI activities and project outputs.

What it takes

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, gender studies, public policy, environmental studies, anthropology, sociology, or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 4 (four) years of relevant professional experience in GEDSI, social inclusion, social research, environmental justice, just transition, community development, or related areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement social research, including defining research questions, conducting literature reviews, collecting and analyzing qualitative and/or quantitative data.
  • Experience with participatory approaches such as observation, participatory mapping, and community-led inquiry.
  • Strong understanding of gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion issues in the context of environmental governance, climate, development, or community-based programs.
  • Knowledge of energy transition, sustainable development, climate change, or other relevant topics.
