The role
The GBV and Gender Equality Technical Advisor will lead the Combating Gender-Based Violence and Promoting Gender Equality thematic pillar, providing technical leadership, program planning, and capacity building in Iraq.
What you'll do
- Provide technical leadership for the thematic pillar
- Lead the creation of SOPs, policies, and guidance documents
- Ensure all technical products are culturally sensitive and contextually relevant
- Support the development of programmatic materials
- Represent SEED in relevant forums and conferences
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Gender/Women’s Studies, Psychology, Social Work, International Development, Human Rights, Public Health, or a related field with at least 5 years of progressive experience
- Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership capacity
- Proven experience in the humanitarian or development sector, with a specific technical focus on GBV prevention and response, gender equality, and women’s empowerment
- Proven experience in strategic program design and providing technical supervision to multi-disciplinary teams
- Proven track record of building staff capacity through the design and delivery of training, coaching, and mentorship
