The role
The Finance Assistant will provide financial management support to the Finance Associate in the UNFPA Country Office, ensuring compliance with financial processes and records, handling payment vouchers, invoices, and travel claims, and maintaining petty cash funds.
What you'll do
- Implementing operational strategies and ensuring full compliance of financial processes with UNFPA rules and regulations
- Acting as the payment focal point for preparing Payment Vouchers, Journal Vouchers, and GLJEs
- Reviewing travel claims submitted through UNALL and ensuring proper settlement
- Liaising with UNDP Finance Section and Bank for timely transfer of funds
What it takes
- Completed Secondary level education in Finance, Business Administration, Accountancy, Public Administration or related fields with five (5) years of relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s degree in above mentioned field with two (2) years of relevant work experience
- Experience in the application of Quantum/ERP systems would be advantageous
- Proficiency in use of Word, Excel and Google based systems
- Strong written and oral communications skills
