The role
The Finance and Budget Assistant position is located within the Budget Unit of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, based in Tunis, Tunisia.
What you'll do
- Assists in the review, analysis and preparation of cost estimates and budget proposals
- Assists with the review of justification for resource requirements for budget submissions
- Monitors budget implementation/expenditures and assists with the reallocation and re-deployment of funds
- Verifies accuracy of input data, ensuring consistency of data in previous allotments to new allotments issued
- Prepares budget performance submissions and provides support with the finalization of budget performance reports
- Drafts or prepares correspondence to respond to enquiries in respect to budgetary and financial matters

- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Technical or vocational certificate in accounting, finance, budget or related fields is required
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in International Organizations or in the private sector in accounting, budgeting and financial management or related area is required
- Expertise in working with spreadsheets and in modules of SAP is required
- Experience in monitoring financial transactions and identifying and analyzing trends in line with IPSAS is required
- UN Language Framework Level II in English and Arabic is required
