The role
The Finance and Budget Assistant will support the Finance and Budget Section in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, financial reports, and grant applications.
What you'll do
- Assist with the preparation of budget proposals and budget monitoring
- Support the preparation of responses to audit queries and recommendations
- Monitor expenditures and compare with approved budget; prepare adjustments as necessary
- Review requisitions for goods and services to ensure correct objects of expenditure and availability of funds
- Prepare and monitor payments, final disbursements, and refunds related to grants to third parties/implementing partners
- Support the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports
What it takes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in finance, budget, accounting, administrative services or related area
- Minimum four years of experience in using the budget, finance, grantor modules in an ERP (such as SAP, Oracle, UMOJA)
- Minimum four years of experience in preparing budget proposals and budget monitoring
- Minimum two years of experience in analysing and assessing financial reports
- Minimum two years of experience in processing grants to third parties/implementing partners
