The role

The United Nations Environment Programme is seeking a regional expert to develop a national environmental taxation framework tailored to Mali's specific legislative, budgetary, and socio-economic context. The expert will conduct diagnostics of the current fiscal system, facilitate multi-stakeholder national consultations, and provide strategic recommendations to align fiscal policies with climate commitments. This 5.5-month consultancy aims to mobilize domestic resources to support Mali's transition toward a green and resilient economy.
