The role

The Executive Communications and Content Specialist at UNFPA is responsible for developing high-quality written and digital content that enhances the visibility of the Executive Director and Senior Leadership. This role involves transforming complex policy issues into accessible narratives and creating compelling communications products for diverse audiences. The Specialist will work closely with various teams to ensure coherence in messaging and to amplify executive content across multiple platforms.

What you'll do

  • Develop high-quality executive communications content, including opinion pieces, articles, blogs, video scripts, and social media narratives.
  • Transform complex policy issues into accessible and engaging narratives.
  • Support the development of the Executive Director’s authentic and consistent voice across written and digital communications.
  • Develop content that profiles the engagements, expertise, and thought leadership of Senior Leadership.
  • Support the identification and development of thought leadership opportunities for the Executive Director.
  • Develop integrated content plans for Executive Director missions, Senior Leadership engagements, and major international events.

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in communications, journalism, public relations, digital media, marketing, international relations, political or social sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in communications, journalism, editorial content development, or executive/strategic communications.
  • Proven experience producing executive communications, long-form editorial content, speeches, thought leadership articles, opinion pieces, strategic communications, or equivalent products for senior leaders.
  • Proven experience developing and managing social media and digital content, including for senior principals or high-profile institutional accounts.
  • Experience working in or with the UN system, an international organization, or a comparable multilateral or advocacy environment.
  • Fluency in English.
