The role

The Evaluation and Research Analyst (ERA) will provide critical analytical support to the Independent Evaluation Office’s evaluation work, primarily contributing to independent country programme evaluations (ICPEs).

What you'll do

  • Contribute to the design and execution of ICPEs
  • Support identification, contracting, and technical and operational accompaniment of evaluation teams and external consultants
  • Engage with country office staff, national stakeholders, and relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare evaluation TOR, outcome assessment papers, and other evaluation inputs
  • Conduct high-quality research and generate analytical inputs using primary and secondary data sources
  • Perform programme and financial analysis

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations or related fields
  • Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) relevant work experience in contributing to or conducting evaluations and research work in the context of international development
  • Experience applying evaluation methodologies and qualitative and quantitative research approaches and methods in an evaluation context
  • Experience with AI-enabled monitoring and evaluation methods and tools, GIS applications, and data analytics technologies
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of French and Spanish is an asset
