The role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Protection Specialist (Child Protection) to lead the quality of child protection programming in Venezuela, focusing on local partners and DRC's own programs.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical supervision, guidance, and mentoring in child protection case management, CPS, and caregiver work to local partners and DRC staff.
  • Develop and adapt technical tools, operational standards, and case management systems for local partners and DRC's own programming.
  • Contribute to the design and quality of child protection proposals and concepts, ensuring technical priorities and coherence.
  • Promote the integration of child protection into local partners' and DRC's programming and other sectors.
  • Support the coordination and representation of local partners and DRC in inter-agency spaces.

What it takes

  • At least four years of experience in child protection, preferably in humanitarian contexts.
  • Solid knowledge of Child Protection Minimum Standards in Humanitarian Action, interagency case management guidelines, CPiE standards, and procedures for unaccompanied and separated children.
  • Experience in safe data management.
  • Proven experience in capacity development of local partners and technical mentorship of local and field teams.
  • Experience in proposal writing, program design, and reporting; knowledge of the local context is an advantage.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
