The role

FHI 360 is seeking an EpiC Tajikistan Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) Specialist to lead and coordinate critical outreach and communication strategies for the Global Health Security program. The role involves working closely with the Ministry of Health and local stakeholders to strengthen community engagement for zoonotic disease prevention and outbreak response. The specialist will manage the development of communication materials, train community volunteers, and oversee subgrantees to ensure effective public health communication. This position requires a strategic leader capable of integrating RCCE activities into broader national health systems across Tajikistan.

What you'll do

  • Provide strategic leadership for RCCE activities in coordination with technical teams.
  • Support MOHSPP and RHLFC in strengthening national RCCE systems.
  • Coordinate and oversee project subgrantees implementing outreach activities.
  • Lead the development and dissemination of awareness-raising and communication materials.
  • Conduct trainings and mentorship for volunteers and healthcare workers on outbreak communication.

What it takes

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, communications, or a related social science field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in RCCE, health promotion, or outbreak response programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing communication materials and training packages.
  • Fluency in English and Tajik; Russian fluency is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Tajikistan’s public health systems and government institutions.
