The role

Lead the re-development and re-design of Syria’s Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) package, ensuring it is evidence-based, inclusive, and grounded in the Syrian context.

What you'll do

  • Lead a comprehensive review of existing EORE materials from Syria and at least four other relevant country contexts
  • Provide technical leadership in the design of a comprehensive, session-based EORE programme for children, adolescents, and caregivers
  • Ensure alignment with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), UNICEF EORE guidance, and other relevant global frameworks
  • Develop a comprehensive Training-of-Trainers (ToT) package, including training framework, detailed session plans, participant materials, practical exercises, and assessment tools
  • Lead and deliver one physical ToT in Damascus for up to 16 participants, ensuring technical consistency and alignment throughout the training

What it takes

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Public Health, International Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in EORE, mine action, or closely related child protection and risk education programming
  • Experience designing and implementing structured EORE or SBC programmes, including facilitator manuals, training packages, and community-based tools
  • Strong grounding in international mine action standards (IMAS) and UNICEF EORE or child protection frameworks
  • Experience delivering Training-of-Trainers programmes
  • Prior experience working in Syria or the broader MENA region is strongly preferred
