The role
Manages and oversees environmental compliance programs including MS4, NSIG, CBPA, Wetlands, and Floodplain Management Programs.
What you'll do
- Manage the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program
- Oversight of the Floodplain Management Program (NFIP/CRS)
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Develop program policies and procedures
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies
- Supervise technical and administrative staff
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, civil engineering, water resources management, planning, hydrology, or a closely related field
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in environmental program management, stormwater regulation, or a related field
- Leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Ability to obtain Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Dual Combined Administrator Certification within one (1) year of employment
- Preferred certifications: Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management Dual Combined Administrator Certification, Program Management Professional (PgMP), Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP), Professional Wetlands Delineator (PWD) certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia
