The role
The Energy Officer, India and Mission Efficiency will support efforts to design and implement energy efficiency interventions such as demand flexibility, doubling energy efficiency, appliance replacement program, ESCO projects, shared cooling infrastructure, building efficiency programs, while ensuring strong collaboration with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and technical partners.
What you'll do
- Support energy efficiency sectoral modelling, roadmap development, and inputs to a national energy efficiency tracking dashboard.
- Support assessment of demand flexibility potential, ESCO market development, and cold storage efficiency initiatives.
- Support in design, implementation support, and performance assessment of cooling appliance replacement pilots and scale-up frameworks.
- Coordinate design and delivery of behavior change programs on energy efficiency appliance replacement, demand flexibility and other related energy transition outcomes.
- Contribute to awareness raising materials and knowledge creation, including developing project documentation, impact assessments and dissemination.
What it takes
- A First Level University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in Energy, Business Management, Policy, Development Economics, Engineering or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in energy efficiency, demand-side management, building energy codes, or related areas.
- Experience in technical and economic aspects of energy efficiency programs is required.
- Experience of working with energy agencies to implement programs on energy efficiency (e.g. DSM).
- Experience in policy and program development for energy efficiency, demand flexibility, or sustainable cooling is highly desirable.
- Research experience in energy efficiency, building performance, or sustainable development is an asset.
