The role
The Employment Specialist at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) will work with the Employment Program Coordinator to help refugees thrive financially in the U.S. through managing employer relations and ensuring job placements in various programs.
What you'll do
- Develop and cultivate long-term relationships with area employers
- Assist clients in accessing employment opportunities
- Monitor job performance and employer/employee satisfaction
- Provide intake, assessment, and pre-employment/job readiness orientation
- Document client participation and progress
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting
What it takes
- Undergraduate degree in Social Work or equivalent field
- 2 years of experience in human services field
- Experience working with refugee populations
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with employers and vocational training programs
