The role
The National Audubon Society is seeking a part-time Education Assistant to support outdoor education and nature interpretation programs on-site at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples, Florida.
What you'll do
- Assist with research and planning of interactive and engaging outdoor education programs
- Deliver and evaluate educational programs at the Sanctuary and occasionally in the local community
- Maintain and enhance existing activities/curriculum, including maintaining program materials and resources
- Support procurement of supplies, marketing, and promotion of programs
- Attend mandatory staff training as assigned
What it takes
- High School, GED, or Vocational degree with 0-1 year of experience required
- Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, environmental studies/science, natural history, biology, geography or related field preferred
- Minimum of two semesters/seasons of working in environmental education
- Class E driver’s license and ability to drive locally for off-site program delivery
- CPR & First Aid certified or the ability to become certified prior to employment
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
