The role

Support refugees to achieve economic self-sufficiency by providing casework services, training, and job application assistance.

What you'll do

  • Provide clients with support in completing and submitting various applications to reduce barriers to employment
  • Conduct training on public transportation, childcare options, digital literacy, job readiness, and public benefits
  • Support clients in job application hours
  • Coordinate with economic empowerment service teams
  • Facilitate client outings to financial institutions, libraries, and other venues
  • Other duties as identified by the FES Program Coordinator

What it takes

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, including cross-cultural communication skills
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment and adapts quickly to change
  • Strong interest in refugee and asylee issues
  • Language skills in Spanish, Amharic, Dari, Pashto, Haitian-Creole, French, Kinyarwanda, or Swahili are a plus
  • Three-month minimum commitment, preferred full-time, 24 hours/week
