The role

WUSC is seeking a consultant to develop and pilot frameworks and working templates for inclusive early childhood intervention services within nursery settings in Jordan.

What you'll do

  • Assess the current situation, including a review of existing services and practices, relevant policies and legislation, and current coordination, linkage, and referral processes between nurseries and Early Intervention Units/Centres.
  • Conduct consultations, interviews, and/or focus group discussions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop practical linkage and referral forms/templates to unify and facilitate coordination and referrals in both directions between nurseries and Early Intervention Units/Centres.
  • Explore opportunities and practical approaches to strengthen ongoing technical collaboration between Early Intervention Units/Centres and nurseries.
  • Ensure that the proposed framework and tools are gender-responsive, inclusive, child- and family-centred, practical, and aligned with national legislation, policies, and inclusion principles.
  • Work closely with MoSD focal points and relevant technical teams throughout the consultancy and incorporate their feedback into the development process.

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, Social Work, Development, Public Health, or any other related field
  • At least 5 years of proven professional experience in Early Intervention and/or inclusion, disability, early childhood, and/or child protection
  • Experience in assessing and developing referral, linkage, and coordination mechanisms among service providers and institutions working in early childhood, Early Intervention, and disability
  • Proven experience in conducting assessments and gap analyses and developing relevant frameworks, operational models, and practical tools related to social services, early childhood, or Early Intervention
  • Experience in consulting and coordinating with government institutions and multi-sectoral stakeholders, including entities working on disability, early childhood, social protection, and child protection
  • Good knowledge of Jordanian national legislation, policies, and instructions related to early childhood, Early Intervention, disability, inclusion, and child protection
