The role

Manage and implement all aspects of a silviculture program including reforestation, vegetation management, and tree improvement. Collaborate in the development of silvicultural budgets and forecasts. Assist with the timber harvest program, including performing harvest unit layout and permitting, administering road building and logging contracts, and ensuring log quality control. Professionally and effectively interact with state regulatory agencies and diverse groups. Maintain essential documentation and critical databases related to reforestation activities. Effectively work both within a team setting as well as independently in remote areas. Perform forestry-related projects in a wide range of weather and field conditions using maps, compass, or GPS. Assist and collaborate in other forestry work on the district as needed.
