The role
The American Red Cross is seeking a Distribution Technician responsible for receiving, processing, packing and shipping blood products/samples for hospital orders. This role involves triaging orders, selecting and carefully packing life-saving blood products, communicating with clients, and maintaining product records.
What you'll do
- Ensure products/samples are suitable for release for distribution
- Perform good inventory management practices
- Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements
- Maintain and review accurate physical and electronic manufacturing records
- Analyze and make decisions based on visual inspection and information provided from other departments
- Identify and quarantine products/samples that don’t meet quality requirements
What it takes
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two years’ experience in a regulatory, distribution or manufacturing environment preferred
- Good computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, good decision-making skills
- Valid driver’s license (may be required)
