The role
The Director of Program Development, Quality & Learning (PQL) is responsible for driving cross-functional engagement in the development and delivery of Country Program Strategy, developing annual plans and reporting on results. S/he ensures development and delivery of high quality, evidence-based, innovative programs that contribute to Mercy Corps Global Strategy and Haiti's new strategic vision.
What you'll do
- Lead the development/updating of the analysis of the country context
- Lead the SLT to develop/update and drive forward the Country Program Strategy
- Provide leadership on development of the Country Annual Implementation Plan
- Support ownership and commitment to the Country Program Strategy by all staff and departments
- Play a leading role in designing innovative projects/proposals
- Ensure the Country Program delivers high quality, multi-sectoral programming
What it takes
- BA/S or equivalent in international studies, social science, management, economics or other relevant fields
- 7+ years of experience with European and US institutional and private donors, including proposal development
- 5+ years overseas experience, including at least 3 years in a senior management position
- Experience managing humanitarian relief and/or transitional programs in areas affected by insecurity and natural disasters
- Previous experience working in Haiti or similar contexts
- Proven track record in program design, proposal writing and development, and donor reporting
