The role
The Digital Health Consultant supports Phase 2 of the national scale-up for HEP Assist AI, an innovative clinical decision-support tool developed by Last Mile Health in close partnership with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health (MOH). This role involves technical product design, system architecture support, and software implementation while bridging technical digital solution development with high-level stakeholder and government engagement.
What you'll do
- Design scalable software builds and technical designs for platforms like Extension Essentials and HEP Assist AI
- Ensure all LMH-supported digital tools align with Ministry of Health data governance frameworks
- Develop functional integrations between LMH tools and national health platforms
- Represent Last Mile Health at the MOH and drive joint digital health priorities forward
- Provide technical training to health workers and system leaders
What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with demonstrated years of relevant experience
- Experience managing the full software development lifecycle
- Strong understanding of software architecture and system integration
- Experience applying user-centered design principles to develop technology solutions for end users
- Experience working with open-source software and customizing digital platforms
- Proficiency with frontend and backend technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, Angular, Vue, Django
