The role

The Desktop Publishing Assistant will participate in the production of official documentation, supplements, and publications using digital publishing technologies.

What you'll do

  • Participate in the production of official documentation, supplements, and publications using digital publishing technologies.
  • Incorporate changes as marked by reporters, revisers, and editors.
  • Perform necessary formatting/layout corrections to formatted materials.
  • Assist and replace more senior Desktop Publishing Assistant when needed.
  • Identify and retrieve documents from the United Nations Official Documents System (ODS).
  • Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.

What it takes

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Studies in desktop publishing, proofreading or related area are desirable
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in digital publishing technologies
  • Knowledge of digital publishing and design applications like Adobe InDesign
  • Experience with publication practices within the United Nations system or similar international organization
  • Experience in multichannel publishing and/or content or workflow management tools
