Wildlands is seeking a full-time field biologist with desert field experience to manage and monitor approximately 50,000-acres of preserved desert tortoise habitat and desert lands in the Colorado and Mojave deserts.

What it takes
- Familiar with desert tortoise survey field methods and habitat
- General knowledge and identification of desert flora and fauna
- Capable of working independently in isolated desert wilderness areas
- Physically able to walk up to 10-15 miles a day and lift 50 pounds
- Experience in the operation of 4-wheel drive vehicles and all-terrain vehicles
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
