The Foundation is seeking a Deputy Director of Strategy, Planning & Management to lead regional and strategic programmatic leadership in Africa. Based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the role involves overseeing strategy development, portfolio management, and team leadership for the Policy, Government Relations, and Partnership (PGRP) team. What you'll do

  • Manage integrated portfolios across multiple teams including budget and risk management.
  • Lead and manage an SPM team, including recruitment and coaching.
  • Design and refine Measurement, Learning & Evaluation (MLE) frameworks.
  • Represent the Foundation in regional forums and partner engagements.

  • MBA or other advanced degree required.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in strategy, development, or public health.
  • Experience managing complex budgets and portfolios in a matrixed environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams across diverse cultures.
  • Strong technical and financial acumen for senior leadership communication.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% across the region.
