The role

The Foundation is seeking a Deputy Director – Strategy, Planning & Management and Measurement, Learning & Evaluation (DD-SPM & MLE) to serve as the analytical and operational backbone of the India Country Office. This senior leader will be responsible for evidence-based strategy, portfolio performance, risk management, and measurement across the India program. The role involves leading four key functions: Strategy, Portfolio Planning & Management, MLE, and Program Assistants.

What you'll do

  • Lead strategy and portfolio reviews with executive leadership.
  • Manage the Rhythm of Business (ROB), including annual planning and budgeting.
  • Oversee portfolio and financial management in partnership with business support teams.
  • Identify strategic priorities for measurement, learning, and evaluation to track impact.
  • Anchor the India Country Office risk register and manage all categories of risk.
  • Lead team development, culture, and performance management.

What it takes

  • MBA or advanced degree in Business, Public Policy, Statistics, Evaluation Science, or Development Planning.
  • 12+ years of experience in leadership roles within global health/development organizations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders across diverse cultures.
  • Deep experience in data-driven strategic planning and performance management systems.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and financial planning knowledge.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for advocating with a broad audience.
