The role
The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will manage the quality and timeliness of the project’s overall technical workstreams, lead the development of evidence-based approaches to improving TVET systems, and support the design, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of activities aimed at improving the quality, equity, relevance, and efficiency of the TVET system in Belize.
What you'll do
- Coordinates closely with the Chief of Party on all technical matters
- Leads project interventions related to technical design, implementation, and quality assurance
- Guides the development of sector skills councils and accreditation systems
- Oversees technical outputs of all implementing partner organizations
- Supports the COP to oversee project monitoring and evaluation activities
- Provides leadership to technical staff and ensures clear roles and responsibilities
What it takes
- Master's degree in education policy, TVET, quality assurance, educational leadership, or a related discipline
- At least 12 years of experience working in the development or implementation of TVET quality assurance systems
- Experience designing or implementing accreditation and certification systems for training providers
- Knowledge of competency-based education and training frameworks
- Experience supporting institutional reforms within education or skills development systems
- 8+ years of related work experience in increasingly senior roles, with three years in leadership positions
