The role

The Dance Arts Instructor will develop and implement dance lessons that increase students' knowledge of art principles while ensuring a safe and creative environment.

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement dancing lessons that increase the knowledge of art principles as well as expand the student’s interest in dance.
  • Create a safe and trusting creative environment in the Dance Studio.
  • Ensure the safety of all students.
  • Communicate respectfully and clearly to all students and parents.
  • Handle disruptive behaviors.
  • Actively participate in promoting the Y-Arts program at the YMCA and in the community.

  • A college degree related to dance education
  • Prior experience working directly with students in a dance education environment
