The role

The internship is located in the UNODC’s Corruption and Financial Crime Branch (CFB) to support work related to anti-corruption and financial crime, including legal research, thematic research, document review, drafting correspondence, and supporting project activities.

What you'll do

  • Assist in conducting legal research into States' efforts for implementing UNCAC
  • Conduct thematic research in areas relevant to the implementation of the Convention or other relevant legal frameworks
  • Support the review of relevant legal documents, papers or other materials
  • Support drafting of correspondence to States Parties as required
  • Support the implementation of project activities including intergovernmental work, workshops, awareness-raising events

What it takes

  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent) or have recently completed one
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of English and fluency in another official UN working language is desirable
  • Computer literate in standard software applications
  • Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter
