The role
As Country Director at CBM Uganda, you will manage the organization’s operations, leading a country programme with an operational scope typically ranging between USD 3–10 million. What you'll do
- Lead the development and effective implementation of CBM’s Country Plan and its operational requirements
- Ensure strong financial discipline within the Country Office
- Identify programme opportunities and areas where the organization can demonstrate its value and relevance
- Promote CBM’s vision and Country Plan to external stakeholders
- Represent CBM to partners, local and national governments, other development organizations, voluntary agencies, in-country media, donor agencies, and local communities
- Establish and maintain a high-quality workforce
What it takes
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role within an INGO or international development organization
- Proven experience in strategic planning and oversight of complex programmes and projects
- Significant experience in organizational development, change management, and capacity building
- Strong financial management expertise, including budgeting, financial controls, compliance, and institutional grant management
- Demonstrated success in advocacy, partnership development, strategic alliance building, and influencing policy change
- Excellent people leadership skills, including coaching, team development, delegation, performance management, and conflict resolution in multicultural environments
