The role

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific is seeking a part-time Counsellor to enhance access to counselling services and build resilience among staff and their dependents.

What you'll do

  • Design and deliver briefings and training programmes
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions
  • Deliver local training on psychosocial-related topics
  • Collaborate with the SCO team to identify training needs
  • Provide specialized expertise to ensure successful completion of specific outputs

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in clinical psychology, psychiatry, or social work
  • Minimum five years' experience in providing psychological counselling and/or psychotherapy
  • Experience in alcohol/substance abuse, stress management, traumatic stress, cross-cultural communication, conflict resolution
  • Training, presentation, and facilitation skills for a diverse audience
  • Clinical license to provide psychological counselling and/or psychotherapy
  • Knowledge of another language is desirable
