The role

Crosscare is seeking a Counsellor to provide individual and group therapy to young people aged 12-18 and support parents. The role involves managing a caseload and working with other professionals.

What you'll do

Provide individual counselling and possibly group therapy to young people 12-18 years
Manage a caseload under the supervision of the line manager
Conduct comprehensive assessment of the presenting issues of the client and concerned persons
Facilitation of therapeutic groups if necessary
Develop and maintain clinical partnerships with professionals
Discharge and onward referral when appropriate

What it takes

Professional Qualification in Counselling/Psychotherapy of at least 2 years Diploma Standard AND Accreditation with relevant Professional Body
Minimum of two years' experience of managing a case load under supervision
Commitment to ongoing evaluation of supervision and clinical practice
Knowledge of notification procedures around child protection
Ability to engage in health promotion and education work
Ability to work both as part of a multidisciplinary team and to work independently, under supervision
