The role
The IDB is seeking an Economic Analyst Consultant to support the implementation of the IDB portfolio with national priorities, annual programming articulation, technical dialogue with authorities, economic analysis of indicators, and the generation of knowledge products.
What you'll do
- Support the preparation of economic reports, macroeconomic sustainability analysis, and country strategy documents.
- Conduct research in various areas including macroeconomics, public finance, international trade, and other relevant areas.
- Process household surveys and census data to generate social statistics and socioeconomic profiles.
- Review economic evaluations, development reports, and literature in relevant areas.
- Prepare special reports related to the country program, country context, and other topics arising from dialogue with the country.
What it takes
- Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in economic analysis.
- Experience in report and document preparation.
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills.
- Knowledge of data analysis and programming tools such as Stata, R, Python.
- Fluency in Spanish and English, proficiency in French and Portuguese preferred.
