The role

The Consultant/Regional Expert will support the UNEP/MAP Secretariat in updating the Resource Mobilization Strategy for 2028-2033, focusing on the implementation of the MTS 2028-2033 and the respective PoWs of the Barcelona Convention.

What you'll do

  • Develop workplan and timetable
  • Evaluate the status of implementation of the current RMS
  • Perform a desk review to analyze the state of play of existing and new funding mechanisms/donors
  • Prepare the ground mapping study for identifying funding opportunities
  • Review the existing UNEP/MAP Resource Mobilization Strategy and recommend updates
  • Develop a coherent communication mechanism targeting donors/partners

What it takes

  • Advanced university degree in international relations, environmental sciences/engineering, law or other relevant political or social science areas
  • At least 7 years of relevant professional working experience
  • Experience in resource mobilization in the Mediterranean region
  • Knowledge of office software
  • Fluency in English, working knowledge in French is desirable
