The role
Last Mile Health is seeking a Consultant, Health Financing to support the Africa Frontline First Initiative and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) in strengthening primary health care financing policies and frameworks.
What you'll do
- Prepare bi-monthly reports for Africa CDC - Continental Coordination Mechanism (CCM) meetings
- Conduct baseline assessment on CHW programs in the ECSA-HC
- Develop Community Health Scorecard for ECSA-HC
- Submit reports for virtual learning workshops on community health financing and sustainability
- Prepare final copy of the financing and sustainability framework for community health
- Prepare webinar reports for the Africa CDC-CCM Financing and Sustainability Sub-group
What it takes
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Development Finance, Public Health, International Development, Political Science, or a related field
- Relevant professional experience in health financing, health economics, public policy, public health, or health systems strengthening
- Experience partnering with governments or policymakers to strengthen health financing systems
- Strong knowledge of health financing approaches, including costing and cost-effectiveness analysis, domestic resource mobilization, strategic purchasing, National Health Accounts, and resource mapping
- Experience working across multiple countries and collaborating with regional institutions
- Strong quantitative analytical skills with experience applying health economics or financing methods
