The role
IOM is seeking a consultant to design and implement training and dialogue sessions focused on mediation, conflict prevention and management, communication, and cooperation in Mali. The consultant will work under the supervision of IOM to enhance the capacities of local stakeholders, including administrative authorities and community leaders.
What you'll do
- Elaborate a methodological note and a detailed work plan for the mission
- Design training modules adapted to the Malian context on mediation, communication, cross-cultural communication, and conflict prevention / management
- Develop practical, participatory, and contextualized teaching tools, including case studies, role-playing, and simulation exercises
- Facilitate training sessions in targeted areas and promote participatory learning
- Facilitate inclusive community dialogue sessions, encouraging the participation of women, young people, and vulnerable groups
- Develop and administer evaluation tools, analyze results, and document best practices and lessons learned
What it takes
- Master's degree in social sciences, law, international relations, conflict management, gender and development, territorial development, or any relevant field
- At least five years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in training, mediation, conflict prevention and management, community dialogue facilitation, or related fields
- Fluency in French; knowledge of local languages, such as Bambara, Peulh, or other relevant languages in the targeted areas, is highly desirable
- Ability to develop training materials and facilitate sessions
