The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Consultant to evaluate the technical robustness and environmental integrity of methodologies applicable to carbon mitigation projects in the Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector. The role involves evaluating VCS, GS, CERCARBONO, BCR, A6.4/MDL, and other relevant methodologies.

  • Evaluate the technical robustness and environmental integrity of methodologies applicable to carbon mitigation projects in the AFOLU sector
  • Develop criteria for evaluating additionality, permanence, and quantification of emissions reductions/removals
  • Ensure that methodologies comply with principles of additionality, permanence, and real quantification

What it takes

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Agronomy, or related fields
  • Experience in environmental, forestry, and/or carbon market methodologies for at least 2 years
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Basic proficiency in English
