The role

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is seeking an experienced consultant to design and install a disability-inclusive, flag-based early warning system (EWS) in the Solomon Islands. The role involves close coordination with the National Disability Forum of Solomon Islands, meteorological services, and other national stakeholders to ensure early warnings are accessible, actionable, and inclusive. The consultant will provide project management, technical support, and capacity-building sessions to enhance disaster risk reduction efforts. This position is based in Honiara, Solomon Islands, and runs from July 2026 through March 2027.

What you'll do

  • Manage project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting for the flag-based EWS.
  • Coordinate with national partners to test and install the EWS model.
